Preetesh Balyaya to Coach Navi Mumbai Sabers in Inaugural Season

Navi Mumbai, India (May 1, 2015) — Championship – it is the word that you hear often when speaking to front office leaders of the Navi Mumbai Sabers, and rightfully so. Sabers ownership has put together an amazing group of individuals, including the team’s leadership, roster, and most importantly the coaching staff. Starting in the front office, the Director of Football Operations, William Thompson has over 20 years of American Football experience. Evaluating talent, leading team operations, and building rosters are all things that William has done at a championship level. Since joining the Sabers, Thompson has helped ownership to build a roster with electrifying talent, including the multitalented quarterback, Dinesh Kumar. Although the Sabers have built an experienced front office staff and formidable roster, the team is most excited about announcing its first Head Coach, Preetesh Balyaya. Every championship organization has one thing in common – an excellent Head Coach.

Disciplined, inspiring, knowledgeable, and relentless – these are some of the words that describe a head coach in any sport. No one personifies these words better than the Head Coach of the Navi Mumbai Sabers, Preetesh Balyaya. With the nickname, “Hellboy”, Coach Preetesh’s reputation precedes him in the EFLI. He is known for his intensity, work ethic, and ability to motivate others. Coach Preetesh has a deep understanding of American Football, as he has been a player and a coach. He spent last season as the Head Coach of Guru Nanak Dev University, leading them to an All India University American Football Championship. He has also played in the EFLI, as the team captain and starting offensive lineman for the Mumbai Gladiators, where his leadership and athletic abilities allowed him to become one of the most dominant players in the EFLI.

When asked about hiring Preetesh, Sabers’ owner Donald Thompson responded, “I don’t think we could have chosen a better Head Coach for our talented group of players. Preetesh is a guy who has been wildly successful on all levels. He was the best offensive lineman in the EFLI as a player, and he has won a championship as a head coach. Preetesh has experience that commands respect from his coaches and players, because he has done what we are all trying to do here – win a championship.”

There’s that word again – championship. With an experienced leadership team, talented roster, and a Head Coach that has a championship pedigree, it is easy to understand why the Sabers have such high expectations. As an organization, the Sabers have found all of the pieces that they need to build a winning team. Most importantly, they found the right Head Coach to lead them to a 2015 EFLI championship, Preetesh Balyaya.
